5 Day Tour - Panzi Kruger Safari & Panorama Route

Day One of Safari

Start your tour from Johannesburg or Pretoria in the comfort of an air-conditioned microbus and travel east towards the Drakensberg Mountains via Dullstroom, Lydenburg and Pilgrims Rest. Stop for a lunch break before driving along the Panorama Route seeing the magnificent Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels, God's Window, the Lisbon or Berlin waterfall. There are African markets at various places along the Panorama Route and there will be time for passengers wishing to buy curios. Arrive at the Panzi bush camp, with its unique location in the Kruger National Park ecosystem that blends in with the splendid backdrop of the Northern Drakensberg escarpment and the thrill of life in the centre of Big 5 territory. Relax, have a drink and enjoy a South African dinner and overnight at this special place.

Day Two of Safari

Early morning start, driving to the Kruger in an open vehicle with your guide. Enter the Kruger at Orpen gate for an exciting day game viewing looking for elephant, giraffe, zebra, hippo and many other species. You will quickly learn how to spot the animals in the bush and your guide will make sure that you have easy access for photos or videos on all the game drives. Enjoy a packed picnic breakfast at a picnic area. Lunch will be at one of the rest camps within the park. You will return to the Panzi bush camp in the late afternoon after a full day of game viewing. After a refreshing swim enjoy a typical traditional bushveld dinner. If it is not a full moon get a chance to see the Southern Cross and other southern hemisphere stars in the truly clear sky.

Day Three of Safari

After a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge we leave in the comfort of our air-conditioned microbus to visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center, which has become a haven for the rehabilitation & care of abandoned, injured & poisoned wildlife. In the afternoon its back to the the lodge to relax before embarking for your afternoon/ evening open vehicle game drive in the Big 5 Thornybush private game reserve.

Day Four of Safari

Early morning drive to Orpen gate with your guide for another thrilling day of adventure, hoping to find some of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo). Enjoy a packed bush breakfast & regular stops at various rest camps in Kruger and then continue to look for hippos, crocodiles and birds. Return to the lodge to relax or swim, enjoy a drink followed by dinner.

Day Five of Safari

Awaken with a bushwalk & have the opportunity to view the game up close in their natural habitat as the tree lodge boasts a wide diversity of prolific game in the private conservancy. After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge its time to make our way home back through the mighty Drakensberg Escarpment. Arrive in Johannesburg at about 17.00 after an unforgettable 5 day experience.

* Big 5 Bush Walk in Kruger Park will be substituted by a short morning game drive for families with children under the age of 14 years old. (Please advise if your child/children are under the age of 14 years old)
